Liz's excellent Lino Cut demonstration

Sorry for the late report but on 20th September Liz Hawkins, assisted by her husband Ian, gave the group an excellent introduction into the world of lino cutting. A whole new terminology - relief printing, Pfeil and Flexcut cutting tools, lino vs vinyl vs soft cut, chine- collé,  baron and soft rollers and so on.  Most of the audience had only previous done lino cutting at school so it was an enjoyable refresh to this fascinating subject. Liz, a former tutor, was an excellent teacher and guided the group through the whole process. Several members of the group had a go and produced some creditable results. It requires a whole new mind set as images and lettering are reversed - quite challenging at times.
